Mind your step in Pafos on 8 and 9 April 2017 will feature two Cypriot artists selected through the open call we issued three weeks ago and two more artists Giulia Galvan, the curator of Mind your step, invited directly.
Drum roll… The invited artists are…
Elena Antoniou: Cyprus-based, dance and performance artist. Graduated from the Greek National School of Dance and the London Contemporary Dance School “The Place”, as a member of the Edge dance company. Since 2008 she has been collaborating with the artist Polys Peslikas. Their work has been presented in Berlin, Athens, Cyprus and elsewhere. She has collaborated with internationally acclaimed theatre directors and companies such as Neos Kosmos Theatre, Cyprus Theatre Organisation, Solo gia treis, Vangelis Theodoropoulos, Maria Karsera, Ralph Koltai and she was recently involved in Marina Abramovic’s project Neon + Mai | As one with her performance An eight-hour journey.
Francesca Foscarini: Italy-based choreographer and dancer. Her training as a dancer has been enriched by the projects promoted by Operaestate Festival_Bassano del Grappa (I), during which she studied with: Emio Greco/Accademia Mobile (NL), Yasmeen Godder and Iris Erez (IL), Nigel Charnock (UK), Sharon Fridman (IL), Ronit Ziv (IL), just to name a few.
She won the Premio Equilibrio Award 2013 as Best Performer. Thanks to this award she could choose an international choreographer to work with for creating a new solo: Francesca chose the Israeli Yasmeen Godder who created with her Gut Gift. Her new piece Vocazione all’asimmetria has been selected by the Aerowaves network for Spring Forward 2017.
